Job description and missions

JOB TITLE ：SENIOR ENGINEERING MANAGER (RENEWABLE)

BUSINESS LINE  ：BU China

DEPARTMENT ： Operation

REPORTS TO ： Director Engineering & Construction

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES/ MISSION  ：

The Senior Engineering Manager (Renewable) (SEMR) is responsible to lead the technical activities of the renewable projects under the Engineering & Construction sub-department, covering solar PV (priority), wind power, energy storage system, micro-grid, biogas projects, etc.  

DESCRIPTION  ：

•       The SMER shall lead the technical activities for renewable projects developed by the BU China from identifications to execution as well as operation.  

•       The engineering services for the SEMR may cover technical services during BD stage such as pre-audit, technical due diligence, technical assumption, review for pre-feasibility study, feasibility study and EPC tender document. During execution stage,  SEMR shall supervise the project execution of EPC contractor or design institute.

•       The SEMR shall ensure a good performance of his services. The SEMR shall regularly report about his activities to the Director Engineering & Construction. 

•       If necessary, the SEMR shall also assist the BD team in the identification of leads and early contacts with the Client by attending relevant presentation meetings.

•       The SEMR will also be requested to liaise with the finance and legal department for projects evaluation, as deemed necessary. 

•       The SMER may be also required to perform clients, targets or partnership visit.

Required qualifications

EXPERIENCE / DIPLOMA ： Engineering master’s degree or relevant

SKILLS / SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE

•       Nationality: Chinese

•       Min. 8 years of experience in renewable engineering activities (solar PV is must), including at least 2 years in technical management 

•       Solid technical knowledge in solutions for renewable energy.

•       Strong knowledge and experience on solar PV. working experience in design institute or engineering company for solar PV is a plus • Experience in project design and operation on owner side is a plus

•       Experience working with foreign company is a plus

•       Experience with other renewable technologies is preferred

•       Good understanding of Chinese PV market (participants, business mode etc.)

•       Good competence of solar resource assessment with simulation tools (PVsyst, SAM etc.)

•       Experience on wind power is a plus

•       Good analytical and management skills

•       Mature level of understanding of the principles of effective project management, including HSE, contract and risk management

•       Ability and experience to communicate with partners and local authorities

•       Entrepreneurship and innovative mindset to absorb the advantages of international good practice

•       Fluent in Chinese and English

•       Mobile for short duration trips
